Nondiscrimination and language access
Everyone is welcome to apply, and the same rules apply to everybody. Posted here, and posted in the home.
Our commitment
[LEGAL ENTITY NAME], trading as Aftermath Rehabilitation, complies with applicable federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation and gender identity), religion, marital status, ancestry, medical condition, genetic information, military or veteran status, or source of payment.
We do not exclude people or treat them differently because of any of those things.
Specific commitments this program makes
- We do not refuse housing to anyone because they take medication for opioid use disorder, including buprenorphine, methadone or naltrexone. Opioid use disorder is a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and refusing somebody on that basis is discrimination as well as bad practice.
- We do not refuse housing because of HIV, hepatitis or any other health status, and we do not disclose it to anybody.
- We house residents according to their gender identity.
- We do not refuse housing because someone is on probation, parole or referred by a court.
- We do not require any religious belief or practice.
Help with communication
We provide, free of charge and in a timely way:
- Qualified interpreters, including sign language interpreters
- Written information in other formats, such as large print, audio or accessible electronic formats
- Qualified interpreters in languages other than English, and written information in other languages
We do not ask family members or friends to interpret, and we never ask a child to. If you need any of this, call 661-805-0527 and say so.
If you believe we have discriminated
You can raise it with us, and you can go straight to an outside agency instead or as well. Doing so will never affect your place here.
